TENNIS: US Open Day 3 Preview

There will be plenty of Aussies on the courts at Flushing Meadows later on tonight, hoping to further their tournaments with wins against relative unknown names.

Reining champ and seventh seed Sam Stosur takes to the second court against Edina Gallovits-Hall early tomorrow morning (Australian time), whilst Lleyton Hewitt tries to rekindle his 2001 US Open winning form, in his match against Tobias Kamke. If Hewitt progresses, he sets up a tough second round match with one of Mikhail Youzhny, or Gilles Muller.

Anastasia Rodionova will have to overcome American Varvara Lepchenko, and Casey Dellacqua faces Chinese hopeful Li Na.

Bernard Tomic is already through to the second round after a tough four set match against Carlos Berlocq, winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. He now faces home town hero Andy Roddick.

Other big names on court later tonight, Victoria Azarenka takes on Kirsten Flipkens, followed by John Isner and Xavier Malisse, whilst tomorrow morning Australian time, third seeds Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray get their first look at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
